Staying true to the definition of volunteerism, the residents and associates at Juniper Village at Forest Hills offered to help the Bryn Mawr Foundation by hosting a Gourmet Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, July 28th. Over 75 members of the community attended, including local Forest Hills Borough Council members and our very own PA State Senator, Jay Costa. Guests enjoyed a delicious gourmet pancake breakfast, a wonderful assortment of donated gifts and prizes, and kids were entertained by Bubbles the Clown. Organizers Jane Freund and Jeannie Premozic said the event raised over $800.00 for the Bryn Mawr Farms entrance wall project and thanks everyone at Juniper Village for their assistance and support. Forest Hills Doug Oster Presentation
What better way to help the environment than to grow organic! And what better way to learn about organic gardening than to attend a lecture by Pittsburgh's very own organic gardner, Doug Oster. On Saturday, August 11 local Pittsburgh-Post Gazette writer, KDKA-TV and KDKA Radio personality Doug Oster was on hand to share information about Organic Gardening, the benefits of Organic Vegetables and answer questions about Organic Gardening from local gardeners. Pictured are Doug Oster, residents from Juniper Village along with local gardening enthusiasts who attended the presentation!

The gardens are blooming at Juniper Village at Forest Hills thanks to the warm, sunny weather and the caring hands of our residents and some local volunteers. This past spring Frank R. Larry P and Rose Mary J. local Forest Hills area residents and volunteers from the Pittsburgh Men's Garden Club shared their time and horticultural expertise to plant gladiola bulbs, petunias and hostas in the gardens in the front flag area and the front porch circle area. Thanks to the warm weather and the nurturing efforts of our residents the gardens are blooming with a beautiful medley of flowers and flowering bushes. Juniper Village invites all of our family members, guests and friends to stop by, relax on the front porch and enjoy the beauty of our gardens.
Residents tending to the gardens and enjoying their beauty are Flora R. Amy H and Donald G.
